My grandmother was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. They did a full body XRAY and sound it in her leg really bad, her one arm, all arond her skull, her ribs, collar bone and she only has 10% useage of her kidneys. They started her on steroids to hope for her kidneys to get better... She was in the hospital and they just sent her home... I think my grandparents are hiding something from us... I dont know what stage it is .. but it seems like she just went home to die?? Can anyone give me some insight? Please... Thanks in advance!

I would really like to recommend that your grandmother sees a myeloma specialist as soon as possible. There are lots of things that can be done. How old is your grandma? Has the doctor discussed radiation for the possible bone lesions? Has anyone mentioned Velcade? Velcade worked really fast for me. As for the kidneys, dialysis could be a possibility. She doesn't have to give up. Have her go for a second opinion, please!
